The Rebelles @ The Spotted Mallard, Friday November 13
The Rebelles are set to storm back onto the live scene with a sensational show at Brunswick’s Spotted Mallard on Friday 13 November. The Rebelles have finally caught their collective breath after the wild shenanigans of their Go! Rebelle! album launch back in July, but enough is enough. It’s time to get the get go going again, so let’s get going!

Kicking off the evening – and we mean KICKING! – will be one of Melbourne’s hottest three piece acts, J Goody Goodman and the Nite Owls. You know you’re in for a treat when three chaps with this sort of hot musical pedigree walk on stage: J Goody Goodman (ace SoCal / Nawlens rockabilly dude), Steve Phillips (charming Ska Vendors / Melbourne Ska Orchestra drummer par excellence) and Mike St Claire-Miller (bad ass Benny and the Fly By Niters bass baron).
The Nite Owls aim straight for the hips with a thick slice of mid-century tropical Americana, including grooves from New Orleans, southern Texas and Jamaica – perfect for your Black Friday delectations!

Lucky the Spotted Mallard has an ace dance floor, we’re getting a spooky feeling it’s gonna be one hot and sweaty nite!

The Rebelles + J Goody Goodman and the Nite Owls
Spotted Mallard, 314 Sydney Rd, Brunswick
Friday 13 November
Doors: 8.30 pm
Show time: 9.30 pm
Entry: $10

Go! Rebelle! Out now!

Go! Rebelle!

The Rebelles’ debut long player out now!

Go! Rebelle! takes the time-honoured themes of cars, boys, and the highs and lows of love and heartbreak, and pushes them a step further as only they know how.

Recorded over the past year at Melbourne’s legendary Soundpark Studios, they’ve created a sound big enough to match their big voices and bigger hearts. Every song is packed chock full of guitars, drums, keyboards, strings, horns and enough percussion to sink a ship. The end result is a spectacular album which captures the band’s boundless energy, rock’n’roll attitude and amazingly rich harmonies.

You can pick up your own copy on CD from Melbourne’s best record stores, including:

Title, 343 Sydney Road Brunswick
Heartland Records,
420/422 Victoria St, North Melbourne
Polyester Records, 387 Brunswick St, Fitzroy
Northside Records, 236 Gertrude St, Fitzroy
Off the Hip, 381 Flinders Lane
Greville Records, 152 Greville St, Prahran

– with more stockists to be announced. You can also order online right here at our own online store. (While you’re there be sure to pick up our latest awesome t-shirt featuring a stunning shot of The Rebelles at their stylish best. We’ve already spotted a couple of new tees around town and they look very cool indeed!)

The super-lush packaging features full colour photos and a 10 page insert with lyrics and more, all for just $20!

And if you don’t want to get physical, you can get a digital copy from iTunes, Amazon Music and pretty much all your favourite online music outlets.

Of course, there’ll be CDs and shirts aplenty when we launch this baby at the Thornbury Theatre this Saturday 25 July. The night is gonna be a huge celebration of The Rebelles reaching this great milestone, so we’d love to see all of you there to join in the fun. Details and tickets available here. You can also join the Facebook event.

And if you just can’t wait that long, you can get a little taste of Rebelles magic with the fabulous ‘Spanish Fitzroy’ video:

‘Spanish Fitzroy’ video out now!

We’ve been posting some stills of our recent video shoot over the past few weeks, which judging by the questions we’ve had about its release has got a few of you quite excited! Well ladies and gentlemen and all those in between, your wait is over.

That’s right, our video for ‘Spanish Fitzroy’ is out now! Starring The Rebelles as themselves and introducing Adam La Rosa as Johnston Street Boy, ‘Spanish Fitzroy’ is the very first original piece of Rebelles music ever made public and a tasty introduction to our upcoming album, ‘Go! Rebelle!’. (Did we happen to mention we’re launching our record at the Thornbury Theatre on 25 July? Tickets here: http://thethornburytheatre.com/event/rebelles-album-launch/)

And we couldn’t be prouder of both the song and the video!

But in case you’re wondering who is really responsible for this stunning visual work, the video was directed by Nikki Tran and produced by Lauren Woolcock, with ace cinematography by Josh Mitchell-Frey. We reckon they deserve a Grammy and a Nobel Prize for putting up with us!

Wanna look? Course you do! Well here it is:
