The Rebelles’ Debut Album Pozible Campaign

rebelles_pozible

After two years of hard work The Rebelles’ debut album is almost here! We’ve just listened to the final mix and we couldn’t be more excited by the songs we’ve written and the rich and textured sound we’ve created. If you’ll allow us this one moment of indulgence, we reckon we’ve smashed it!

The next step is to get this great record out to the world and into as many ears as possible – and we’d like your involvement. The Rebelles’ Pozible crowdfunding campaign is officially up and running. We’ve come up with an awesome range of rewards, from signed albums and rare merchandise, all the way through to your very own Rebelles gig!

Every cent raised will go to the mastering, pressing and promotion of our debut album. The Rebelles have been blessed with such supportive and fun audiences from our very first gig, so it feels right to invite you to join in now and help get our record over the line.

Check out The Rebelles’ Pozible campaign here.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Last 2 shows for 2014

The Rebelles are taking a break from recording their highly anticipated debut LP – not long now, people! – to shake off that studio dust with a double dose of rockin’ live action and dance floor madness.

First up is an absolute doozy! The Rebelles will be sharing the LuWow stage with Japanese beat punk freaks, the Minnesota Voodoo Men. If you like your early Stones and Yardbirds mixed in the wash with some Link Wray and pegged onto the hills hoist to dry by Billy Childish, then you’ll be heading down to the LuWow for one hell of a night. Get there early, share a famous LuWow cocktail with an attractive stranger and let yourself go go! This will be a big one!

Then you’ve got 48 hours before we get rowdy all over again, this time down at Yah Yahs, supporting the ever excellent Kinematic for the launch of their fourth LP, Kinecism. Kinematic have been mainstays on the Melbourne scene since back in 2000 and are part of the Rebelles royal bloodline in the form of Oz Rebelle (drummer extraordinaire, paramour of the gorgeous Ms Connie Rebelle and sire of Junior Rebelles founding member Wee Ivy Jean Rebelle).

Arcane Saints Ignite

These are your last chances to catch the amazing Rebelles live show for 2014. It’s practically a long weekend so don’t be late, Jake!

– The Minnesota Voodoo Men, The Rebelles and The Reprobettes, Thursday 30 October at the LuWow. Tickets just $12 on the door.

– Kinematic plus The Rebelles, Saturday 1 November at Yah Yahs. Tickets $13 on the door. Facebook event here

The Rebelles present “Double Date #3 with The Sugar Fed Leopards and special guest star Mikelangelo – Saturday April 5 at the Spotted Mallard

rebelles_mallard_april5_poster_web
The Rebelles wrap up their series of Double Dates at Brunswick’s Spotted Mallard on Saturday 5 April with one more spectacular, not-to-be-missed show.

First up is the hip ’n’ happening Sugar Fed Leopards, led by the super talented Sugar Breath (AKA our very own Jez Rebelle) and her merry bunch of musical misfits. The Leopards mine that rich vein of joy between disco and soul and are always quick to put a smile on your dial and a skip in your step!

Next, The Rebelles bid a fond au revoir to the Spotted Mallard’s wonderful stage. The Rebelles used the first two Double Dates to premier their very own originals (coming together as we speak for their debut album!), meaning you can expect more exciting world firsts scattered amongst your favourite Girl Group classics!

And to top it off, your special host for the evening will be Melbourne’s very own Mr Sophistication, Mikelangelo! It’s not often The Rebelles are joined by on-stage guests, but when Mikelangelo asked so sweetly they just couldn’t say no. Expect a special treat or three to make your Saturday night dance card complete!

That’s Saturday April 5, 8.30 pm
The Spotted Mallard, 314 Sydney Road, Brunswick

Also on the bill are Melbourne’s own Tijuana Peanut, a collection of some of Australia’s hottest musicians unwrapping a choice selection from Herb Alpert’s iconic Tijuana Brass Christmas album. Add to all of this the traditional LuWOW Santa smashing, the compering brainlessness and bad taste of Frosty the ‘Snow Bastard’, and the cheesiest Christmas records we can find, all in a forest of cheery Christmas tat. What better way to get in the mood for “The Best Christmas Ever”!

Tickets on sale now from Moshtix!

•The Rebelles + Tijuana Peanut + The Bridgettes

The Rebelles back Justine Clarke at this year’s Reclink Community Cup (this Sunday June 23)

The Rebelles first played the Community Cup back in 2011 and are mighty chuffed to be continuing their association with the premier event on Melbourne’s sporting calendar.
This year they have been invited to be the backing band for Australia’s top-selling children’s singer Justine Clarke. The star of Play School and Australian TV drama will be kicking off the day’s entertainment with a rocking run through some of her best songs, promising a great show for children and parents alike.
Danny P, Bobb B, Potsie and BamBam! Rebelle supply the backbeat, while back-up vocals are provided by the wonderful Rhonda and Reba Rebelle, who have ironed their dancing pants, worked extra hard on their cricnic and dinosaur roars – and, it must be said, are just that little bit excited!
The rumour mill is also full of chatter about a special guest vocalist joining Justine for a duet on the day, but The Rebelles are of course sworn to secrecy. Suffice to say, it would be pretty dumb dumb of you not to get there early …
Oh yes, and there’ll also be sets from The Beasts of Bourbon, Super Wild Horses and King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard.
See you there!
