What is that jingle-jangling off in the distance? Why, it must be the end of 2025 drawing near, accompanied by the ringing of sleigh bells! Or, in this case, slay belles (boom tish!) as the Rebelles return to Kindred Bandroom to once again slay your hearts and minds.
The Rebelles have many fond memories of Kindred and are always excited to perform there. This time around, they will be digging deep into their back catalogue and dusting off some Christmas ditties. Now we know not everyone out there may be looking forward to the upcoming onslaught of carols, but these will all be certified girl group classics! And fear not, we promise most of the tunes will not be Christmas-themed at all, but will be drawn from the Rebelles’ extensive repertoire of rockin’ and rollin’ covers and originals, which work their melodic magic all year around.
Joining the Rebelles for the occasion will be The Lonesome Wranglers, who will bring their delicious brew of vintage country, rockabilly and western swing to, appropriately enough, the western suburbs. At least for the night, they will be very inaptly named because they will not be lonesome at all, but surrounded by the friendly faces of the Rebelles and, we hope, you! (They may however wrangle, but only if some wrangling is required.)
Rounding out the line-up will be one of the Rebelles’ very favourite DJs, Eli Schoulal (formerly of the much-missed 3RRR show Hellzapoppin’). Eli is sure to have a wild and wonderful selection of songs to wheedle you onto the dancefloor, if you weren’t already there!
‘Tis true, the end of the year can get a little frantic with events filling up the calendars, but this one promises to be one of the very merriest! So snaffle yourself a ticket and head on down to Kindred Bandroom on Saturday 29 November.
